Who goes first?

How to play

The goal: be the first to move all seven of your pieces around your path and off the board.

Rolling: the dice are thrown for you. Each of the four dice is a little pyramid, and the number of marked tips facing up (0 to 4) is how far you move. 2 is the most common roll; 0 and 4 each come up only one time in sixteen.

The path: your pieces wait in your start pile, enter along your own row heading left, run right along the middle row, which you share with your opponent, then turn back into your own row and leave it into your home pile. The faint arrows on the board show the way.

Moving: move one piece exactly the number you rolled. Bringing a new piece onto the board is a move too: a roll of 1 puts it on the first square of your path. You can't land on your own piece, and a piece needs the exact roll to go home. If you can move, you must. If you roll 0, or no piece can move that far, your turn passes.

Capturing: land on one of your opponent's pieces in the middle row to send it back to its start. Your own row is safe: your opponent can never reach it.

Rosettes give you another roll when you land on one. The rosette in the middle row is also safe: a piece on it can't be captured, so nobody else can land there.

Tips: point at a glowing piece to see where it would land. Made a mistake? Undo takes your move back, and you keep the same roll.
